As of July 2016 Rufus and I have been employed full time, running a private exploration yacht, as
Captain/Engineer/Fly Fishing Guide/Plumber/Electrician/IT Guy/Chamois Technician/Bilge Rat/Barman/Braaimaster
and
Mate/Chef/Stew/Staff Photographer/PA/2nd Bilge Rat/Seamstress/Travel Agent/Personal Shopper/Interior Decorator/Tour Guide.
The boat is a new build 2016 Leopard 58 sailing catamaran with a very busy itinerary.
Rufus has more than 35,000nm and I’m over 25,000nm of international sailing time right now, on both mono and multi-hulls. We do an average of 5,000nm each year, with 3 trans-Atlantics, 2 Pacific crossings and 3 Panama Canal transits under our belts. Over the past 5 years we have worked in charter fleet management, refits, international 5 star luxury charter, the superyacht industry, racing and now running a private yacht.
Rufus has his 200T RYA (MCA) Yachtmaster Offshore ticket, with Commercial Endorsement, as well as his Yachtmaster Ocean Theory . He is currently working towards his MCA OOW. We also have a whole bunch of other certificates that are too boring to list.
